Rock ‘n’ Roll Virtual Running Weekend

With all this pandemic business going on due to CoronaVirus, the Rock ‘n’ Roll group has put together a virtual event, and so I ran both a half marathon and a 10k the very next day!

20 Days into Sweet Child O Mine

I haven’t progressed much further in the song, but I feel it’s more smoother now when I play. This is about 3 and a half pages into an 8/9 page song. So I’m about halfway. I know the next part will be some solo stuff and I hope I can get it started before next week.

A new thing that I’m going to try for the month of May, is to do pushups every day. I did 10. Starting small!

Camille’s Birthday – Lake Day at Pleasant

A day early, with social distancing requirements rules in effect, there was a limited amount of people allowed to be at the lake. We had to leave the house at 7 AM to get in an relatively short line. The lake was super full! The water almost all the way to the top of the boat ramp!

Camille had to rent a truck to tow her boat, the budget orange matched her boat, so that’s kinda fun. Damon was going to join but because of the rules, he drove all the way from Chandler to be turned around at the gate for getting there too late. Poor kiddo. That’s a whole hour drive.

We spent the whole day there in coves and pretty much drifting everywhere throughout. With the water really high, there wasn’t many spots we could anchor to.

Amazon Web Services Certified Cloud Practitioner

A week ago today, my buddy Sona and I said “let’s watch this video and get our certs” and we did.

I watched it all the way through last week and took hella notes in my onenote

Then I watched it again, but with my finger on the fast forward to skip parts I knew.

Then I actually took Amazon’s free training on https://aws.training website and suffered through that (couldn’t fast forward very well)
I took that fake test of 30 questions in like 6 minutes and got an 83%!

I read my notes, which took 2 hours, then I watched the youtube a final time, but skipping hard on that fast forward

Then took my test! I passed!

We haven’t had one of these since Eric left and I was glad to be able to have taken a screenshot this time. I can’t believe we ended up talking about studying AWS… Nerds!

Video Conferencing the 105th Fam

Last night there was a HouseParty happy hour but I failed to get a screenshot. Today we had our monthly get together with our 105th family. It was good to see everyone! Most of our projects are stalled as the pandemic is forcing everyone to postpone or cancel their conventions.

Kicking Off a New 100 Days

Alright, here is Day 1 of 100, I’m starting to learn Sweet Child O Mine, originally from Guns and Roses, and replayed by Evan De Silva, and the tabs are from RockClass101.com.

I started this last year, but for some reason, took a break from it and never returned, so I’m restarting today.

I have the pages printed out, but since I’m a little tired from my morning run, I thought I’d stick around on the couch and just lazily record. I’ve played it already twice this morning to try to get the flow going, but of course, as I record, I definitely don’t play the same way.
