Foundations of Purple Teaming

As part of my new role of Senior Director over the Security Operations Center, it made sense to learn more about Purple Teaming and this training was free and came with a cool certificate, so I did it.

Alanis Morissette & Garbage Concert

First concert we’ve been to since pre-COVID. It was a chill concert. We had a great time.

Washington DC

For the last 2 days, I took a quick flight out to Washington for a meeting, then less than 24 hours later, I was on a plan back home.

It was a good working meeting trip and we got a lot of brainstorming and ideas out. I’m looking forward to what the future holds.

Foundations of Operationalizing MITRE ATT&CK

So I decided to get this today because I got CPEs to study for it and take the free online test; and I really wanted to learn more about the Mitre ATT&CK framework, which is actually something really smart and helpful. I got certified I guess, so I got that going for me.

Tomorrow is Day 1… Again!

About a month ago, the CISO asked me if I would accept a position to take over the Security Operations Center. I immediately thought not, but considered it and eventually convinced myself about growth and opportunity at Magellan. So far, the company has been really good to me.

I have accepted the position of Senior Director in charge of the SOC. I did have the chance to hang out with the guy leaving to see what’s going on. There are going to be some challenges but I think I can manage them with the team. I am a little bummed out that all my peers are VPs and I wasn’t able to get that title. But… It’s not all that bad. Since working here, I’ve had several raises and a promotion and it’s just been a year? I guess things are not bad.

Now What’s Up?

I have been offered a promoted position in the company. I start on 8/30/2021 as a Senior Director and I’ll own the Security Operations Center.

Dark Ones: Midnight at the Oasis

Our first in person Dark Ones party since pre-COVID. It wasn’t a huge turnout, but still a lot of people. We had to mask up when going inside. It was nice seeing everyone.

Lake Day

We finally took Petoonia out on the lake this year and found our Bimini zipper to be broken… Which sucks! AZ Sun isn’t like any other sun, it’s burning! So of course everyone crammed in under the shade.

We still had a great time :)
