Back to the Arizona Renaissance Faire 2023

It was the busiest we have ever seen the Renaissance Faire! But Damien asked to go and was bringing his girlfriend, Sam. So we dealt with the 3 hours it took to get there. It was nuts! We saw too many times, people pull over to go pee on the side of the road on the way there. It was all too often that we drove in the single digit MPH if we weren’t stopped completely.

When we got there, we booked it to the restrooms. Once we were relieved, we had a great time, despite the massive crowds. It cleared out more at 5 PM, but it took us over an hour after we left, just waiting for traffic to leave so that we could.

Wing Touch Up

Arizona Aloha Festival 2023

It’s the time of year when the Arizona Aloha Festival happens in Tempe Beach Park! We got to spend some time shopping, eating, and seeing some friends. This time, we brought our wagon and chairs and it made such a huge difference to our experience! Whenever we wanted to, we just sat down. It was lovely!

Glendale Folk Festival 2023

We all got together about an hour early to play some songs. Over the years, thanks to COVID, we have mostly converted to online meetings and that doesn’t work well for most of our members and online meetings don’t really allow us to play together. Our online attendees have dwindled by a lot. But… when we meet in person, it feels like a great reunion! Almost like the 3 years we’ve been apart didn’t happen. I love making music with everyone!

Our friends came to support us, and that was really nice and special! Also, they took a couple pictures for us.

Phoenix Scottish Festival 2023

Our friends joined us at the Phoenix Scottish Festival, we got to wear our kilts and bought some new ones. We also got to eat some tasty Scottish foods! We watched a little bit of the Scottish Highland Games, but didn’t take any pictures of it.

The event is pretty fun, there are a lot of shops and music and clans, and there is always british cars (minis, so Jaime was into it), and even some horses.

Gallifrey One: 2023

Arizona Renaissance Festival: 2023

We spent the whole day, taking our time to get out to everyone’s houses to pick them up and heading over to the Renaissance festival. We enjoyed taking things slowly at a comfortable pace and
got to see everything we wanted to and ended the day closing out the park.

Tempe Library Fancon/Allison’s Bday

Tampa, Florida: Business Trip

Earlier this month, my boss had to go meet with his boss in Tampa… We convinced him to do a leadership offsite. There is a lot of stuff we needed to talk about. So many things going on in the world and we think there may be some rough seas ahead. I’m not looking forward to the future if things go bad. The best way to counter it, is to start planning now.

My buddy Don happened to transfer in PHX and we flew to Tampa together

I’m so glad I got to see this, I saw it in some ads on Facebook, I had to facetime my wife and show her!

This flamingo is just magnificent!

We bowled for team building, I haven’t bowled in some time! We obviously let the bosses win, LOL

During this trip, I learned how to do the spin thing on the ball! I was able to get a strike doing it!

We concluded our offsite, we did a lot of hard work and also had a great time together

While we were done, I still had some time before my flight, so I did go ahead and meet up with my Marine Corps brother, John. We went to bootcamp together back in the early 90s. It’s good to stay in touch with people.
