We, the Phoenix Ukulele Group, played the Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival’s 30th anniversary. We had a good line up and jammed! It started raining just as we ended, so we left as did many others.
Today we went to the Arizona Renaissance Faire/Festival. We had a full truck, carpooling with Karie and family. Met up with Camille and Family. Then hung out with our 105th family. A lot of family and friends today.
It was Karie and her family’s first time there.
It was an interesting drive out there, we passed by the Superstition mountains that were covered in snow, but the day was nice and warm.
This was our first time at the Arizona Matsuri, which was also their 35th anniversary of the event. It is a Japanese Festival. We met up with our 105th family there.
It’s funny how it’s a small world, there was a few that we ran into, a couple of Dark Ones, a guy who sometimes goes to our 105th build parties, and then as we were leaving, a guy who used to go to Ukulele night, who just happen to be driving by.
Our February Build Day went off great, as usual. There is always a lot of interesting projects that we work on separately or collaboratively. The 105th Phoenix Hive is like our Cosplay family.
We had a really fun time getting into character for a tea party for our friend, Alex. It was at the Tempe Beach Park, where we regularly go for the Aloha Festival, on an unfinished bridge to nowhere. So much fun! We had cucumber sandwiches, drank tea, ate cake, and they danced the Waves of Tory, an Irish Ceilidh Dance.
Damien, Booger, and I did the Spartan Sprint this year. It was cold, wet, and we didn’t even want to do it as the date got closer and closer. It was our best time yet and we did fantastic. I think it was even a half mile further than our first Sprint, where it was just Damien and I.
We were so tired from the night before, we actually fell asleep on the couch before half time!!! We woke up to Adam Lavine singing away.
The Dark Ones had a party and we came to party! The theme was Murder at the Vulgar Unicorn.
We attended Tempe Public Library’s FanCon where we met up with friends and with some new friends!
